The name "samurai green onion," which is synonymous with negirai-farm, comes from its appearance reminiscent of a samurai's gallant sword.

They are thick and crispy, with a gentle sweetness that is enhanced when cooked.

He is proud to say that he has the luck of meeting people.

He met the right people at the right time in his life, and has been able to bring about opportunities for growth with combination of his challenging spirit.

 

While working part-time as a student, he was approached by a customer who happened to be the president of a company in Kyoto. Mr. Yawatahara adored the president and decided to live in Kyoto.

His life changed dramatically when the president taught him secrets of management, saying, "You should be a president even if it is a small company".

His first encounter with agriculture was at the age of 23.

An acquaintance introduced him to a Kujo green onion farmer in Kyoto, where he was led by mysterious fate.

On the day at an farm experience, he saw firsthand the status of farmers in Kyoto.

This was the starting point of Mr. Yawatahara's career as a farmer, as it changed his image of farming and showed him that it could be a profitable job depending on how he does.

 

After training for a year or so, he decided to start his own business in Shiwa, a town with similar geographical conditions to Kyoto, but at first the newcomers were met with harsh criticism, and it took about a year and a half before he was given a land lease.

It took him about a year and a half to get a lease on the land. The three acres of farmland he finally acquired has now grown to 40 acres, as Mr. Hachimanpara has earned the trust of the local people with his serious attitude toward farming.

The reputation of Samurai Negi has gradually spread by word of mouth and has become so well known that it has been featured in the media.

As for his future vision, he says, "I want to dispel the negative image of farming and make it an attractive job for young people.“

In order to attract young people and boost the industry as a whole, it is important for us to work happily, he says.
"I want to nurture people's hearts through green onions. " with his eyes shining brightly.

At MICHISHIRUBE, he is planning to hold a cooking class and dinner party using green onions.

There may even be collaborations with other restaurants!
