Calligraphy is not a skill of being good or bad. If you are talking about good or bad calligraphy, you are still immature. Oriental art is a product of "chi"!

"Life should be lived in a natural way!“、says Hidetada Tanimura, a calligrapher and literati living in Akitsu.

"To be natural is to be as you are, unpretentious and unpretentious.“

He loves flowers when he sees them, drinks sake when he looks up at the moon, and dreams when he recites poems and haiku. Wake up when he wants to wake up and doesn't overdo it.

"I don't keep a notebook, and I don't wear a watch.“

That's the Hidetada way.

At elementary school, he became interested in calligraphy on TV and continued to study it on his own until high school.

When being at Kure Mitsu High School, he met a calligraphy master and studied calligraphy in earnest, from the classics to the way it should be.
After entering Shuchiin University in Kyoto, he lived in Kyoto, a city of tradition and culture, for 17 years.

Also participated in public exhibitions such as the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition.
Awarded the "Keisei Prize" at the Keiseiten, the gateway to success in modern calligraphy.
He has also written posters for Chanel's luxury restaurant, Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo.
In 2012, left all his organizations and moved to hometown of Akasaki, Akitsu, where nature is abundant.

"Calligraphy is not only a skill of being good or bad. If saying so, you are still immature. Oriental art is a product of "chi"!, Mr. Tanimura said.

Anyone can write good calligraphy if they relax and look at the paper naturally in a beautiful environment.

Also saying, "Religious people should write such heavy words as love, gratitude, peace, hope, and inspiration. Serious words such as aspiration, sincerity, and truth should be written by politicians. Such words are not appropriate for a discarded calligrapher living in an ancient village in the mountains. “

Brushing the ink slowly and leisurely, he holds the tip of his long-haired brush and lovingly writes on the paper scenes that he has been familiar with from his life in his hometown, such as "flowers, earth, grass, fields, trees, mountains, birds, wind, and the moon," as well as his own windy poems, such as "Clouds are gone, flowers are withered, and dreams are born.”

His stylish and aloof writing, as if written by a hermit, is just like Hidetada himself.

Today's people spend their days working, raising children, etc., as if they are pressed for time.
In the midst of our rationalistic pursuit of profit and efficiency, there is a time, space, and experience that reminds us of the richness we have forgotten.

The Akasaki district of Akitsu Town has the beautiful scenery of the Seto Inland Sea and the red soil of potato fields, which is called the Amalfi of Japan.

Why don't you join Mr. Hidetada, a literary artist and calligrapher who lives in such a town, and nurture "your mind and letters"?
