Sanemori Kensetsu is a construction company based in Higashi-Hiroshima that mainly renovates buildings under the trade name "Wa-kokoro CULTURE RENEWAL ARCHITECTURE."

Mr. Sanemori of Sanemori Kensetsu says, "I want to create buildings that people can love and harmonizes with landscape by utilizing culture and history of city."
He was born and raised in Saijo, and after graduating from school, he boxed in Kure and Tokyo.

Until taking over his family's construction business, he had no awareness of landscape of Higashi-Hiroshima.

However, as he worked, gradually learned about historical background and culture of unique landscape of Higashi-Hiroshima, such as sake breweries and red tiles, and became attached to his hometown, and wanted to create a city where people living here would be proud of this landscape.

He began to focus on renovating the buildings not only to protect and preserve them, but also to make them more livable as "buildings" that will continue to be used in the future, and to give them a new look while fitting in with the city.

Currently, more than 16% of houses in Higashi-Hiroshima are vacant, and one in six houses is vacant, which is a serious problem. There are also environmental problems due to the accompanying deterioration of landscape and generation of abandoned construction waste.

Mr. Sanemori believes that this problem is caused by the short cycle of construction (disposable) in Japan compared to other countries, and at Sanemori Construction, he wants to use building materials that can be used for a long time and return to nature, as well as "Monozukuri" that values "Wa" (harmony).

Through construction business, he hopes to preserve unique landscape of city and foster love for local community.
